The youth council program is the foundation for YSC programming, that focuses on community development to engage “at-risk” youth in the Northeast San Fernando Valley. Participants identify, document and analyze problems in their community that they would like to address through advocacy and community development projects. In addition, the curriculum of the Youth Council is based on conflict resolution, respect, and mediation skills building. Youth Council is integral in outreaching to the hardest to reach youth to become engaged in positive programs.
