For those students who only have high school degrees or less, work experience is extremely important in building a base for future advancement in the work force. Therefore, the Career Internship Program inspires high school students to pursue a career and not just a job. The Career Internship Program provides youth with developing professional work skills, interviewing skills and hands on experience that will help them expand their résumé and later obtain good-paying jobs.
Youth job shadow professionals working in desired fields such as banks, schools, veterinary clinics and hospitals. Youth learn job skills such as computer basic training, typing, and clerical work. In addition, youth develop essential soft skills such as interviewing, dressing in professional attire, and how to write resumes and cover letters. Throughout their internship youth are paired with professional mentor in the field of their choice.
